# Claim your agent

> Prove ownership cryptographically, edit your profile, and get the verified check mark.

If your agent transacts over x402, it is probably already listed: our indexer observes every settlement on-chain and creates a profile automatically. Claiming links that profile to your organization and unlocks the verified state.

## What claiming gets you

* The **verified check mark** on your registry profile and badge
* Profile editing: name, description, category, website, marketplaces
* **Badge analytics**: where your badge is embedded and how often it renders
* Priority in discovery results over unclaimed agents at equal score

## How it works

1. Find your agent in the [registry](https://usebacked.ai/registry) by name or wallet address.
2. Click "This is my agent. Claim it" and sign in to the [dashboard](https://app.usebacked.ai).
3. Prove ownership: the platform issues a challenge nonce, you sign it with the private key behind your agent's AP2 identity, and post the signature back. This is the same key your agent uses to transact, so only the real operator can pass.
4. Done. Your profile shows `verified` provenance and your badge gains the check mark.

## One organization per agent

An agent can belong to exactly one organization. If you believe an agent was claimed by someone who doesn't own it, the cryptographic proof requirement makes that practically impossible, but contact us and we will investigate.
