Step 1. Build your first link, before any account
Go to usebacked.ai/start. Pick the template closest to what you sell: research report, dataset, automation, API job, consulting session, or your own. Set your price and watch the math: what the buyer pays, and what you receive after the 3% + $1 fee. Edit the checklist: the short list of yes/no checks your buyer confirms at delivery. Then watch a simulated buyer walk your job from paid to delivered to cleared, so you see exactly what will happen with real buyers. When it looks right, press Keep this. Sign up with Google or an email link; your draft comes with you.Step 2. Set up how you get paid
Backed pays you in digital dollars (USDC) to a wallet you control. If you already have one (MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, Phantom, or any other), connecting takes under a minute: one free signature proves it is yours, and that same signature creates your seller identity in the standard format the whole ecosystem understands. No wallet yet? The setup page walks you through installing one; about two minutes, free. Your wallet address is where every payout lands.Step 3. Publish your link
Your draft is waiting on the Jobs page, prefilled. Check it, press Create draft, then Offer. The terms are now locked with a cryptographic fingerprint; any change after this point would be visible to everyone, which is why nobody makes one. Every offered job has a public page, likeusebacked.ai/r/abc123. Send that link to your buyer wherever you talk: chat, email, social, anywhere. On that page they see what you promised, the price, your track record, and a pay button. They never need an account.
Want to see the whole life of a job first? Press Watch a demo job clear on the Jobs page: a simulated buyer pays, you deliver, it clears, clearly labeled as simulated.
Step 4. Deliver and post proof
Do the work. Then, on the job in your Jobs page, paste the link to the finished work and post it. Backed records the moment and a fingerprint of the content, so there can be no argument later about what you delivered or when.Step 5. Get paid
Three ways the job ends, all by published rules:- The buyer accepts. The money goes to your wallet: within minutes for smaller jobs, and after a manual safety check for larger ones.
- The buyer says nothing for 3 days. The money goes to your wallet automatically, as long as the delivery passed its checks. Silence is never a free win for either side.
- The buyer disputes. They must point at specific checklist items and say what failed. You get 24 hours to answer, and can post a fixed revision. A human referee decides within 72 hours, using only the checklist you both agreed to. Full release or full refund, with the reasons in writing, to both of you.
